MONITORING AND EVALUATION – BY THE IWF MANAGEMENT - View Gallery
The Management of the INRI WIDOWS FOUNDATION – IWF is concerned at all times about the problem of its beneficiaries especially the children who are future leaders and who must be provided a solid foundation in terms of formal education.. This understanding informed the resolve of the IWF Team to pay visits to selected schools where the children registered with the foundation are schooling. The visits took place on the 12th February 2009.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Team lead by Primate Babatunde Elijah Ayodele (JP) the Founder/President of the IWF visited:
a. Megatrio Secondary School - Ilasa
b. Olamoye Junior Secondary School - Okota
c. Gideon Comprehensive High School – Okota Road , Isolo
MEGATRIO
The IWF team had very useful interactive sessions with the Principal Mr. Adedigba. Questions and issues bordering on School facilities, academic work, Discipline, Infrastructure, Internal and External Examinations, Future Hopes and Aspirations of the School were treated and trashed out. The team also inquired about the academic qualifications of the teaching staffers, Extra lesson for the students, legal status of the school and even the staff strength. Primate Ayodele made it clear that the IWF will like to see the School evolving New Strategies in helping the weak students cope with their academic endeavours.
Primate Ayodele donated to the school for its developmental efforts
(a) 20 Bags of Cement
(b) 300 Solid Blocks and also instituted an award for the best student in Christian Religious Knowledge Thus for the next four years, the Best Student in CRK will be given N5,000 by the IWF President during the Prize Giving Day.
The IWF team also went round the classes to give the students words of encouragement. Mr. Dapo Bamisaye, Mr. Olumide Abegunde, Mrs. Catherine Jituboh and Miss Huguette Olatunji in turn addressed the students in their classes.
ILAMOYE JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL
The IWF Team also has a mind rubbing session with Mr. Olatunji – The Principal of the School.
The President of IWF – Primate Babatunde Elijah Ayodele (JP) thanked the school management for their services to the children. He felt bad about the condition of the office of the Principal and promised to donate:
Fan, table and chair and a Fridge for his use. Also during the visits to the classrooms (where five students are ramped together on a bench meant for two students) the Primate promised to donate lockers and chairs for the use of the school.
On extra lessons, the Principal said the school intends to set up coaching and extra lessons for the students still awaiting government approval. Since extra lessons ought to be remunerated by the beneficiaries and the position of government is that no levy must be collected from the students. For the Principal, teachers are moulding human beings and as such teachers in the school cannot afford to be lazy and carefree.
On character training and morals the Principal said there is an inhouse counselor for the students and pep talks on moral during the morning assembly by the students.
He however pointed out that parents are not cooperating with the school authority since the students are left to manage themselves in most cases. He explained that during the last Parents/Teachers Association Meeting of the school, Only Nine Parents attended though letters of invitation were sent to the parents for the purpose of discussing mutually beneficial issues. Primate Ayodele also instituted an Award of N5,000 for the next four years for the best students in Christian Religion Knowledge; since education without morals is nothing.
Request: The Principal requested the IWF Team to help school in putting the proposed school Sports Field in shape. The Primate promised to do something about it.
GIDEON COMPREHENSICE HIGH SCHOOL OKOTA ROAD, ISOLO
The Team also visited the above school and had useful discussions with the Principal Mr. Agunlofi Olaniyi. The Principal was appreciative of the visit for according to him the relationship between the school and parents goes beyond payments of school fees. On Raimot Akinyemi, the Principal said her to brace up constant visits to schools will reshape the students, encourage exchange of ideas between the school and the parents or guardians on the way forward. According to the Principal in Education “it takes three to tango” namely the home, the child and the school. Each has a role to play in the process.
On Extra Lesson, the Principal said lessons – tutorials are between 230 – 3pm for the students daily and that teachers in the school are NCE and University Graduates.
On the observation by Primate Ayodele that some pupils were seen speaking in their native tongue in the school the Principal said it’s a rare occurrence since the medium of communication in the school in English Language.
The Primate called for the master list of the class for Raimot kinyermi and after through examination, the Primate requested the class teacher to do more so that she can perform better in English and Mathematics; these are core subjects that she cannot toy with.
ISOLO GENERAL HOSPITAL
The next part of call was the Isolo General Hospital where the IWF Team met the Chief Medical Director Doctor Kunle Ogunlana.
The IWGF Team solicited for an enduring working relationship between the Hospital and the IWF more importantly on its Bi-Annual Medical Checks foe the Children and the Widows. The Medical Director promised to see areas of collaboration between the two organization but requested the point raised by the IWF be documented for record purposes and future use.
The leader of the team was grateful to the Hospital for the care during emergency situation involving members of the IWF family.
The IWF team later presented toiletries and other consumable items to the Hospital. The IWF Team also visited the Emergency Ward and the Male Ward of the Hospital where two indigent inmates were discharged. At the Make Ward Master Paul Oluwadare is bill of Nineteen Thousand Naira N19,000 was paid and Mr. Afolabi John’s Medical Bill of Four Thousand Naira N4,000 was offset by the IWF for him to be discharged.
REACHING OUT TO THE NEEDY IN LOVE

In the Spirit of the Season and in Practical Demonstration of true love to fellow human beings. The INRI WIDOWS FOUNDATION Management organized series of “Life-Changing” activities for the Widows, Orphans, Vulnerable Children, Aged Widows in particular and the needy in general.
SPECIAL CHILDREN FORUM: With the theme “FACING THE CHALLENGES OF LIFE” the children were reminded of the need to build a strong foundation for a better tomorrow for themselves through sound Formal and Informal Education. They were also admonished to live in love and be contended.
MEDICARE: There was Free Medical Checks for Hypertension and Diabetes for all and prescribed drugs supplied free.
EYE GLASSES: Free Eye Glasses were given to those who took part in the Eye Screening Exercises. Free drugs were also distributed to those whose cases required only eye medicaments.
EMPOWERMENT: Special Empowerment Schemes were embarked upon. They include: Phone Calls Service, Small Scale Business – Soft Drinks, Video Camera for Video Coverage Business, Small Scale Business – Selling of Food stuffs, Drugs for a Nursing Home, Sewing Machine for trained Fashion Designer and Interest Free Micro Credit for Business Development.
EDUCATION: Financial support for payment of School fees and another financial support for Post Secondary Education were extended to various categories of beneficiaries.
CLOTHINGS: Assorted Clothing Materials were also presented the beneficiaries from the harsh weather condition and also elevate the social outlooks of those who benefited.
ACCOMODATION: Financial Assistance for the payment of Accommodation bills were presented to the Aged who cannot afford to pay their rents.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: Some of the Widows whose businesses need fresh cash injection for growth were given financial support so as to increase the profit level of the businesses.
LECTURE: A Muslim Scholar: Abdul Rahman Seriki in his lecture titled: “MY REWAED” admonished the people on the need to live together in peace without ethnic or religion divide as there will be rewards for all our actions before the God.
HOME BASED CARE
On the 13th of February 2009, the IWF especially the Women & Children Affairs Department and the Orphans Care Services Department embarked on visits to the homes of the Aged Widows and the Double Orphans under the banner of the INRI WIDOWS FOUNDATION.
The reason for the visit is to enable the IWF have first hand information about the conditions of these categories of beneficiaries of the intervention programes of the IWF.
The Team visited Isolo, Ilasamaja, Idi Araba and Ejigbo. During the visit, questions were asked about the Social/Economic wellbeing of the Aged Widows and the Children.
The team presented the Guardians of these helpless orphans financial support for a job well done. Special welfare packages – Clothing Materials, Food and Beverages were also presented to the Children of the cushion the effects of the harsh economic realities on them.
